The Vuelta 'DeTour': The Discovery Tour! (Coming Oct 15, 2019!)

Vuelta Puerto Rico now offers a first rate experience for non-cyclists who wish to join their friends and family! This exciting new Vuelta Puerto Rico DeTour provides transportation directly to hotels with stops for meals with specialized tours and experiences!

Have your family member, friend or significant other join you in being part of Vuelta Puerto Rico on a one of a kind DeTour. Enjoy a panoramic tour with the assistance of professional tour guides that will help you discover the unique beauty and culture that la isla del encanto has to offer. Even locals will find something new and exciting to experience!

This service is provided only for non-riders. Your loved ones can be part of the Vuelta Puerto Rico action and enjoy our beautiful island as they are transported from one overnight location to the next. This will save participants the hassle of renting a car, navigating and dealing with parking.
Vuelta Puerto Rico DeTour includes:

• Comfortable transportation to next overnight hotel all three days of the event, on a 55 passenger, air-conditioned motor coach with restroom facilities.
• Lunch all three days of the event. Lunch will be at a different location from the cyclists’ lunch location on days 1 & 3. Day 2 lunch stop is with cyclists.
• Walking and site seeing tours at destinations.
• Arrival dinner in San Juan on the final day with all participating cyclists.
• Room for one carry-on luggage per DeTour participant. Any extra luggage can be left at the hotel in San Juan.

The DeTour Schedule

Sunday: San Juan to Ponce

10:00 am - 55 passenger motor coach departs from the Condado Plaza Hotel. Schedule for pickup times from other hotels to come.
11:00 am – Lunch stop at Guavate. Part of Puerto Rico’s famous “Pork Highway.”
1:00 pm – Motor coach departs for Ponce.
2:00 pm – Motor coach arrives in Ponce ... Plaza las Delicias King's Cream, walking tour around Plaza las Delicias.
3:30 pm – Motor coach leaves Plaza Delicias with stops at all Ponce hotels (Melia, Ponce Plaza, Caribe Hotel, Hilton.)

Monday: Ponce to Mayagüez

9:00 am – Motor coach departs from Ponce Hilton Hotel. Schedule for pickup times from other hotels to come.
10:00 am – Stop in Boqueron Plaza with walking tour.
11:00 am – Motor coach departs for Mayaguez.
11:30 am – Lunch stop with cyclists at Pabellon de las Banderas in Mayaquez.
1:00 pm – Motor coach departs from Pabellon de las Banderas with stops at all Mayaquez hotels (Holiday Inn, Howard Johnson, Colonial, Mayaguez Resort.) 

Tuesday: Mayagüez to San Juan

9:00 am – Motor coach departs from Holiday Inn Mayaguez. Schedule for pickup times from other hotels to come.
10:30 am – 30-minute coffee break.
12:00 pm – Motor coach arrives at Plaza Colon in historic San Juan.
12:15 pm – 3-hour food and walking tour of Old San Juan
3:30 pm – Meet up at finish line, at El Morro Fort, to receive all cyclists.
4:30 pm – Vuelta Puerto Rico cyclists arrive at finish line at El Morro Fort. Dinner with all participants.
6:00 pm – Motor coach departs El Moro Fort for Condado Plaza.
