ABOUT VUELTA PUERTO RICO
…JOIN US AND DISCOVER WHY VUELTA PUERTO RICO IS MORE THAN CYCLING!
La Vuelta Puerto Rico is a premier cycling event for endurance athletes looking for a “pro-like” experience. In three days, a ‘fast-paced’ group of international cyclists, divided into three pelotons, cover a 375-mile course that circumnavigates the entire island of Puerto Rico during Presidents Day weekend.
At La Vuelta Puerto Rico, riders select one of three pelotons based on their preferred pace:
Peloton A: For the speed enthusiasts, this group maintains sustained speeds, sometimes exceeding 28 mph—a pace akin to professional stage racing averaging 21 mph.
Peloton B: This group rides at speeds between 17–25 mph, averaging 18 mph.
Peloton C: Ideal for a more relaxed pace, this group rides at 15–22 mph, averaging 16 mph.
Over three days of riding, La Vuelta features rest stops where riders can take a break, soak in the breathtaking scenery, and enjoy local cuisine and Caribbean hospitality. After a brief pause, it’s back on the bike for more pedal-pounding adventure!
La Vuelta Puerto Rico is all about the peloton—yes, riding in a peloton is just as exciting as it looks! Riders choose one of three pelotons based on their preferred pace, making the experience both challenging and fun.
IN A NUTSHELL…
La Vuelta Puerto Rico is a three-day, 375-mile, fully supported cycling tour circumnavigating the entire island of Puerto Rico over Presidents Day weekend.
Showcased as one of the world’s 75 quintessential cycling experiences in The Cyclist’s Bucket List by Ian Dille (Bicycling Magazine), this pro-style, boutique endurance event is the world’s first non-racing event that delivers a true international peloton experience.
Limited to 150 riders, the route follows an epic coastal circuit between carefully chosen host cities. Enjoy hotel-to-hotel luggage service, plentiful rest stops, on-route mechanical and medical support, hearty meals, and breathtaking scenery every mile.
From start to finish, riders from 30+ countries share the road, the challenge, and the camaraderie, ending with a celebratory dinner and the presentation of handcrafted finisher medals.
